Organisations wishing to compete for a SESAME award at this year’s CARTES & IDentification show can now register at the CARTES website.

As usual, the awards feature 10 categories for organisations to promote their innovations. There is a SESAME for hardware and a SESAME for software, as well as eight SESAME application categories:

·         Banking/finance/retail

·         Mobile

·         Identification

·         eTransactions

·         IT security

·         Transportation

·         Health care

·         Customer loyalty

According to the organisers: “Each entry must be innovative, nearly user-ready, and able to meet market demand.

The deadline for applications is 31 May, 2008. This will be followed by an official announcement of all the candidates in July 2008. The shortlist of finalists will be made public in September 2008, and the winners will receive their awards in Paris on 3 November 2008.
