Atmel and Guard ID Systems are working together to bring products to market that protect consumers against online identity theft and fraud.

As a first step in their collaboration, Guard ID Systems is using the Atmel AT98SC secure microcontroller in its ID Vault consumer online security product.

According to Guard ID Systems, ID Vault protects consumers against online identity theft and fraud as they conduct financial transactions online. It encrypts and stores account usernames and passwords on a smart card microchip inside a tamper-proof USB device, and uses Atmel’s AT98SC032CT-USB secure USB turnkey solution.
